Vietnamese man jailed for cannabis production in Harrow

A VIETNAMESE national found at a cannabis factory has been jailed for two years and faces possible deportation.

Van Hai Bui, 41, was found hiding by the back door of an address in Chatsworth Gardens, Harrow, where officers seized more than 500 plants earlier this year.

He was found guilty of production of the Class B drug and sentenced at Harrow Crown Court last week.

Sergeant Pete Law, of Harrow-on-the-Hill Safer Neighbourhoods Team (SNT), said: “Cannabis cultivation will not be tolerated in Harrow Borough.

“Harrow on the Hill SNT are currently working with owners of premises and residents on ways to identify suspected cannabis factories.

“I would urge anyone who suspects there might me a cannabis factory in their neighbourhood to contact Harrow Police on 03001231212.”

The raid came on the back of complaints from residents.

This man is a victim of people trafficking which is caused by prohibition.

It it were not for our ridiculous anti-cannabis laws, organised crime would not be involved and the dreadful exploitation of people like Van Hai Bui could be ended at a stroke.

Six million people in Britain use cannabis regularly - not surprising when you realise it is 100 times safer and 1000 times less toxic than alcohol. We already waste billions every year in a futile attempt to stop it. Why not tax and regulate and realise the benefits?
