My friend has a daughter in senior school, they have to pay for school meals (I am pretty sure she said they have to do it via PayPal!) and no cash, tokens or vouchers are allowed. Instead, the kids have to scan their fingerprint for every lunch. The letter from the school tells parents to consent to the fingerprint scan even if they don't take school means "just in case" circumstances change. Added to the new rules about mandatory education until age 18, it seems British schools are set to become juvenile detention and monitoring centres. They probably lace the meals with GMO foods for added measure! And let's not forget the HPV vaccine. What a world!"

Former investment banker and peer David Freud, a minister in DWP, told the Lords this afternoon that the increase in the usage of food banks was ”supply led”. “If you put more food banks in, that is the supply. Clearly, food from the food banks is a free good and by definition with a free good there’s almost infinite demand.” In the wake of the longer wait for unemployment benefits introduced by George Osborne last week, Freud also rejected suggestions by leading food bank operators that delays in benefit payments drove demand for emergency food aid. His comments come after similar straw-clutching from other senior Tory figures — including secretary of state Iain Duncan Smith — that the growing number of food banks is down to advertising in Jobcentres and an increase in volunteers. Evidently this is what Cameron meant by the Big Society.

Cannabis for Autism "I have autism which means I can seem different. Seeming different has both good and bad sides. I use cannabis to modify my autism which means I can then seem differently different. Seeming differently different has both good and bad sides. The important question is "which bad sides do me and the people close to me prefer - the ones I have on cannabis or the ones I have off cannabis". For me, cannabis works. It may not work for every autistic person and it certainly will not restore any autistic person to some version of normality, if such a thing even exists, but it's the best thing out there at the moment, and there's not much harm in trying it. Cannabis for Autism "I have autism which means I can seem different. Seeming different has both good and bad sides. I use cannabis to modify my autism which means I can then seem differently different. Seeming differently different has both good and bad sides. The important question is "which bad sides do me and the people close to me prefer - the ones I have on cannabis or the ones I have off cannabis". For me, cannabis works. It may not work for every autistic person and it certainly will not restore any autistic person to some version of normality, if such a thing even exists, but it's the best thing out there at the moment, and there's not much harm in trying it. Ignore the law, it's just a bully. If the law keeps bothering you, fight it."
