GFWC Signature Project: Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention Fund

Improve the lives of domestic violence survivors around the country by making an investment in their future with a donation to the GFWC Signature Project: Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention Fund. Monies from the fund will allow GFWC to award at least eight domestic violence survivors with $1,000 scholarships in June 2012, giving them hope for a better tomorrow.

The GFWC Success for Survivor’s Scholarship was created through GFWC’s commitment to our Signature Project: Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention, to change the lives of survivors as they take the next step in reshaping their future in a positive way through higher education. For nearly half a century, GFWC has fought to eliminate domestic violence, and the establishment of the GFWC Signature Project: Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention Fund is one way GFWC will move towards achieving that goal.

The GFWC Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention Fund is fully supported by donations from GFWC members, partners, and friends.

How you can help

Be sure proudly display your commitment to ending domestic violence by purchasing the GFWC Signature Project: Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention Pin for $10 through GFWC Marketplace or by calling 1-800-443-GFWC (4392). Proceeds from sales of the pin will benefit the GFWC Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention Fund.

Help domestic violence survivors “Step Away From Abuse” by working with domestic violence shelters in your local community by participating in the GFWC Sock Project. Place a pair of new socks in a quart-size, clear plastic baggie. Affix a personalized label with a message of support and encouragement from your club, that reads, “As you begin your new life and Step Away from Abuse, we hope you will find comfort and warmth as you walk into your newly found freedom." Download the label template here.
