Welcome to NIM-FM
Greetings from the heart of Bundjalung Country in Northern NSW.
Nimbin Independent Media, known locally as NIM-FM (2NIM), is Nimbin’s Community Radio Station, and has been broadcasting to the Nimbin valley and beyond since the turn of the century. With a 100% volunteer crew, the station produces a variety of programs focusing on news, national and international current affairs, local community matters and information, environmental, health, spiritual and cultural issues and of course music, particularly local music. In 2006 the station produced a compilation CD of local musicians (Nimbin Homegrown) which it circulated, via AMRAP (Australian Music Radio Airplay Project), throughout the community radio network across Australia.
NIM-FM transmits 24 hours / day, 7 days / week with over 50 presenters putting in their time and energy to keep the station “on-air”. The diversity of the local community is reflected in the programming with several hours / week of ethnic content (Italian, German, Japanese, Spanish) and 12 hours / week of Indigenous music and news.
This radio station survives through the generous support of our sponsors, the unstinting energy of our members and presenters and the support of the CBF (Community Broadcasting Foundation) in the form of grants; and hopes one day to be one of the first genuinely carbon neutral community radio stations in Australia.
The object of this blog began as a display of a varied amount of writings, scribblings and rantings that can be easily analysed by technology today to present the users with a clearer picture of the state of their minds, based on tests run on their input and their uses of the technology we are advocating with www.projectbrainsaver.com
