Tear Gas Shortage: Crisis for #Mauritania Regime
Security forces in disarray as essirage breaks the news that tear gas stocks are running low and may not be replenished before March 2012, due to increased demand from countries across the region. Human rights organizations pressuring France to stop supplying tear gas to Mauritania in addition to similar recent campaigns against American and European suppliers following the November and December 2011 crackdowns in Egypt are also a source of concern for repressive regimes.
The government, meanwhile will be worried in case they are expected to spend money on more frivolous items like food, water, healthcare, housing or education, none of which have been budgeted for.
