The next BIG JOINT Public Appearance is scheduled for;

AUGUST 23rd 2011.

Parliament House.... 6 Macquarie Street,  Sydney

^^ WEB CAM will be LIVE ^^

The small print: The true beauty of the relegalize cannabis campaign is, that as well a host of medical reasons, we have liberal reasons for changing the cannabis laws, (taxation revenue) we got lots of green reasons (carbon fixing plant number 1, reduce dependence on rainforests), we got labour reasons (hemp job creation) and we even got national reasons (new crop for farmers with high cash yeild per hectare), all said and done, I am sure Premier O'Farrel and his team, when presented with all of the scientific and medical information at our disposal, will be able to see the positives for N.S.W if it were to develop a regulated and taxable cannabis industry.

2011;

A vision statement about the positive benefits of regulated and taxable Cannabis / Hemp.

Let this vision statement inform it's readers that a multitude of medical discoveries regarding cannabis as a cancer cure have been made this century, prostate and breast cancer, to name the top two.

Let it point out that the number one carbon scrubbing plant is cannabis.

Let it point out that growing hemp for fiber and paper is more eco friendly and sustainable than logging trees or fertilizing cotton.

Let it point out the nutritional quality of the hemp seed is greater than that of fish and soy beans.

Let it point out that the concept of legalizing cannabis is more popular with the 'man in the street' than ever before, with every online 'poll' (abc/smh etc) about re-legalizing / decriminalizing cannabis have shown over 60% in favor, with most registering in the 70 percentile bracket.

Let it point out that in November of 2010, 48% of Californians were in favour of outright legalization of recreational cannabis and let us remember that 56% of Californians voted for (and now have) a legal and taxable medical marijuana industry.

Let it point out that that the current NSW (and Australian) governments are lagging behind most every other state in the global economy simply because they has not been able to conduct research into the realities inherent in cannabis/hemp re-legalization because of the enforcement of cannabis prohibition.

Let it leave the reader in no doubt that relegalizing cannabis for fibre, fuel, food and medicine is in the best interests of everyone.

Variety Club of NSW B-Shed to Byron Bay Bash August..

Been a while since I seen so many smiles in the main street of Nimbin, there was no police at all and so we owned the street for a magical hour -at least- of impromptu street theatre. The POLITE was out in force and there was heaps and heaps of cameras, to quote one of the BBashers. "No other town stopped for us before, normally it's us stopping at a town."

Indeed, it was quite surreal there for a while, with one of the "official hippies" stopping every car and informing them of free coffee and hemp cake at the H*E*M*P Bar, the BBashers are all in costume and as soon as they parked, they all headed towards the Big Joint and there was Batman/Robin, Fred and Wilma Flintstone, the KeyStone Cops, Bob the Builder and another 100 themes, all mingling outside the embassy and totally blocking the road at times. Dudes stuck in the traffic jam in normal cars was all honking for hemp and getting into the carnival atmosphere as well, like I said nimbin was smiling and laughing and everyone had a BBlast.

Mission Report From:

The Labor Party Policy Launch in Brisbane on August 16th - 2011 at the Convention Center in South Bank Brisbane.

The Big Joint, Cannabis Dave, Elsbeth (Officer Elsewhere), Lily, H*E*M*P* President Michael Balderstone, French Sam, Constable Zig, Debra, John Jiggens, 2 random Brisbane dudes and me, Max Stone were all in position well before Julia arrived, or so we think, we didn't actually see the Prime Minister, like EVERY other Prime Minister for the last 70 years, she did her utmost to ensure that her carefully constructed political image kept well away from the issue of Cannabis Law Reform and the Big Joint.

There were more way way way more POLICE than POLITE, more POLITE in our protest group than other protester groups and more polite police than ever before in the history of Big Joint road trips, which I hasten to add, is saying something, because all the POLICE I have ever met on a road trip have always had a great attitude towards the Big Joint, the QLD Police impressed us no end with their genuine 'happy to see you' smiles when they first saw the Big Joint and with sincere wishes for our success with cannabis issue as we were leaving.

SPEAKING TO THE CANBERRA DEMONSTRATION.

The first question I need to answer is "Are we prepared?" I'd say most positively YES!!! You need look no further than the YouTube of the 420 on MardiGrass Saturday, plus the Big Joint crew successfully completed a mission to the Gay and Lesbian MardiGras parade (Read the Mission Report) which was in "lock down- anti terrorist mode" in February, indeed, it was the most secure thing I ever saw. 1,000 N.S.W police, 2,000 security in black shirts and bullet proof sunglasses with plugs in their ears and over 5,000 brown shirted parade officials, plus representatives of the army, navy and the air force in and out of uniform.

And everyone, including the global television audience, all saw the Big Joint with over 150 members of the Australian Federal Police marching ahead of it, as if in solidarity. I'm sure it looked like the police was dancing with joy, as if in celebration of the pot laws being changed!!! So I feel totally relaxed about 'dealing' with the levels of security as it relates to any Big Joint Demonstration anywhere any time.

I am working on the premise that a Cannberra mission is more about getting the Big Joint and the ObamaBanner onto a prime spot in the middle of the city where the citizens and the main stream media cameras can see it than it is about sitting down and talking with the politicians, which is not to say that they wouldn't be made welcome outside at 4.20 PM.

Bottom Line? This is all about getting our issue into the plethora of other issues and from where I sit, every Big Joint mission to date has been building up a level of professionalism and respect, and this mission, done right, we just could get some genuine cannabis law reforms happening as a result of our actions.

The BIG JOINT makes a BIG IMPACT

THE TIME WE TOOK THE BIG JOINT TO THE N.P.I.C
AT THE POWERHOUSE MUSEUM - SEPTEMBER 2009

THE TIME WE TOOK THE BIG JOINT TO PARLIAMENT HOUSE in Canberra 2006

For those who have come in late; Part 1. The Polite Force is becoming one of the most successful propaganda weapons we have ever assembled, how successful? Highly! If you can remember and if you were there, no matter where you went during MardiGrass 09, any time day or night, everywhere you cared to look you could see a POLITE hat or a member of the POLITE FORCE staging a succession of what where in essence, and by design, Avante-garde Tableau Vivants: Avant-garde means "advance guard" or "vanguard", the adjective form is used in English to refer to people or works that are experimental or innovative, particularly with respect to art, culture, and politics. Avant-garde represents a pushing of the boundaries of what is accepted as the norm or the status quo, primarily in the cultural realm. The notion of the existence of the avant-garde is considered by some to be a hallmark of modernism, as distinct from postmodernism. Tableau vivant is French for "living picture." The term describes a striking group of suitably costumed actors or artist's models, carefully posed and often theatrically lit. Throughout the duration of the display, the people shown do not speak or move. The approach thus marries the art forms of the stage with those of painting / photography. Each tableux capturing the POLICE - POLITE message, thousands and thousands of photographs of the POLITE FORCE have now become part of the public domain, the concept is out there and thriving on facebook and youtube, indeed the POLITE Cannabis Activists from Nimbin have already become a global phenomena and part of cannabis law reform legend.

For those who have come in late; Part 2. The plan is point out the POTential revenue that would be raised by the HEMP revolution, please keep uppermost in mind we are not talking about a government tax on home grown cannabis for personal use, we are talking about the revenue that will be generated by the hemp Agri business - Fibre, Fuel and Food. Number One carbon scrubbing plant on the planet, I repeat, Hemp is the NUMBER ONE Carbon scrubbing plant on the planet. Hemp is stronger and requires far less fertilizer than, say, cotton; being naturally insect repellent, and having few insect predators capable of effectively attacking it, it needs little to no pe$ticide$. As food, hemp seed is right up there with the Soya bean for nutrition and a lot more versatile.  Since Hemp seed is the only food source that has the vital Omega Acids 3, 6 and 9 it can help reduce humanities reliance on fish, currently the main source of omega acid. I should also add that cannabis has a growing reputation amongst cancer patients as a wonder drug and it's 'miracle cure' reputation for breast and prostate cancer has been scientifically verified since the last time we took the BigJoint to Canberra. Another example? How about old growth Tasmanian forest being sold as wood chips for a couple of dollars a tonne. Irreplaceable forest for a measly $2 per tonne. If the government were to legislate a redeployment of the 'woodchip' industry into the 'hemp industry, within a few years the HEMPchip industry will be churning out high quality pulp and what's left of the old growth could stay alive until someone wants to pay its real value; $200,000,000 a tonne. Since a hemp seed is 35% oil, containing the highest oil percentage of all seeds, hempseed is ideal for bio diesel and when the sustainability of a bio diesel industry is compared to the unstable future of the oil business, case closed, I mean the price of oil has never come down in my lifetime, hemp based fuel could save Australia billions and billions of dollars. Still yet another example? Hemp is being used in the Ukraine around Chernobyl to absorb radioactive isotopes from the soil. That's just some of the reasons. Stimulate the Economy, cure cancer, save the trees and fish, reduce our dependency on oil and clean up nuclear waste........... I am not making this up, cross check all this info on Google.

Bottom Line? We do not want cannabis legalized just so we can sit around and smoke pot all day long, we have common sense reasons why 'out door' cannabis should be relegalized so that all Australians can benefit from this wonderful plant, indeed, from a global perspective, no other country on earth stands to gain as much as Australia does by relegalizing the hemp plant in this time of Global Economic Turmoil. We have the acreage, the sunlight and the willing workers required to become the earths leading supplier of hemp for Fibre, Fuel, Food and Medicine.
