21 jobs under threat as centres face axe
28 October 2010ONE learning centre in Meirionnydd is to close and another is under threat, with the loss of up to 21 local jobs.
It was confirmed this week that popular children’s outdoor pursuit centre Tŷ Gwyn, at Llwyngwril, will close next year after funding was withdrawn.
And it was also revealed that the future of Pant yr Eithin residential home, for adults with learning disabilities at Harlech is in doubt.
A consultation process by Gwynedd Council on the future of Pant yr Eithin will begin next month and could lead to its closure.
There are currently six residents receiving care at the home and 15 members of staff working there.
