The UK has the highest levels of inequality in Europe

"The UK has the highest levels of inequality in Europe. Cuts to services announced in the Budget, and housing benefit changes mean the poorest tenth of households will lose the equivalent of 20.5% of their household income, whilst the richest tenth will lose just 1.6%. I support a Robin Hood tax on the banks that could raise money as an alternative to regressive measures such a rise in VAT and cuts to public services.

It is time that those who built the systems we live under relinquished control and allow for the building of better mechanisms that work for the whole planet, rather than a relatively small group. Money is a set of rules. We have seen too many times where the system has failed and somehow it has managed to sort itself - credit being one of those 'ways' of sorting - as was 'futures' at it's beginning.

You get poverty of spirit when you repress people. Poverty of soul and lack of love of society comes from being surrounded by a society that shows that it cares nothing for you or for your friends and families. You can't keep showing what is possible with wealth - even a small amount whilst restricting the finances in order to control the pyramid - and expect those without to keep dreaming or stop dreaming knowing that those dreams are unattainable from where they stand.

The offer, from well off people, of 'One day soon' is not enough for those in poverty or ill health, or both.

Build a fairer system now and it will work better and then we will all be richer"
