A father-of-three was caught growing cannabis in his garden after arguing with his wife over it, a court heard.
Darren Hart, of Hobart Road, Coleridge, Cambridge, was arrested for producing the drug after police were called to a domestic dispute.
He pleaded guilty at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court.
Scheherazade Haque, prosecuting, said: “Police were called to an unrelated incident. On arrival they were told of cannabis growing in the garden. They found two plants – one in the garden and one in the shed.”
Hart, 31, told police he grew the plants from seed. He wanted to avoid buying it because “it was cut with other items”, Miss Haque said.
Lowri Marks, mitigating, said: “The argument was about the cannabis because his wife was very unhappy with it. They actually decided he was going to dispose of it in some way.”
Hart was given a 12-month conditional discharge
