Charter of children's rights to art and culture
Eighteen principles expressed in 27 languages to state the right of all children, all over the world, to enjoy art and culture. This is the content of the Charter, created by La Baracca - Testoni Ragazzi, a theatre company that has been working with children and young people for over 30 years. The book was also created thanks to the work of dozens of illustrators and translators.
The project has obtained enormous support all over Europe, and has been endorsed and sponsored by significant Italian and foreign institutions.
Our aim is to carry out a non-profit cultural promotion campaign, so as to further disseminate the knowledge and practice of fundamental rights, especially in these current times, when the world of culture and artistic expression finds itself in a difficult situation. And, as often happens in times of crisis, it is the weakest, youngest subjects who suffer the consequences. We would like to thank those institutions that helped us promote the project by supporting the initiative. In particular, a special thanks to the President of the Italian Republic, who awarded a Medal to the project, and to the European Parliament, Unesco and Emilia-Romagna Region, who decided to support the various initiatives through which we will be presenting the Charter. Also, a special thanks to the European Commission, Bicameral Committe on Children of the Italian Parliament, the University of Bologna and the Municipality of Bologna for their patronage and support.
A huge “thank you” to all the illustrators and translators who helped us create the book. Finally, we would also like to thank all those who have decided to endorse the project of the Charter of Children’s Rights to Art and Culture, from the leading cultural and artistic figures who launched the proposal, to all those who have spontaneously endorsed a project that we created but that now belongs to everybody.
The object of this blog began as a display of a varied amount of writings, scribblings and rantings that can be easily analysed by technology today to present the users with a clearer picture of the state of their minds, based on tests run on their input and their uses of the technology we are advocating with www.projectbrainsaver.com
