How to Identify and Avoid Scam Sites? | Webupon

Do a Google search: If you want to know whether xsite.com is a scam or legit site, then you can do a Google search with the term ” xsite.com scam” and see the results. If it is a legit site, you will find many blogs with positive information about the site. Of course there will be some negative information too, but it will be much less than the positive news about the site. If it is a scam site, you will find a lot of complaints about the site. You can easily assess the reputation of a site by this method.

Look for contact details: Most scam sites don’t have proper contact details. So you can easily spot them if you do a simple research on their contact details, address, phone numbers and so on.

How long the site is existing?: If a site is existing for more than 2 years, then the site may be a legitimate one. Now you can take more interest and look for other details like site design, owner details and so on. If there is a phone number, give a call and ensure they are legit.

Get quick rich programs: There are thousands of sites that promise you that you can become rich quickly. They display false testimonials. They display photos of luxury car, swimming pool, luxury house etc., Have no doubts, they are nothing but scams. They say that you can become rich quickly working just for an hour per day or even while you are sleeping at home. The fact of the matter is that there is no real quick rich program on Internet. You need to work hard and it takes a lot of time to start making money on line.

Multilevel marketing: Most multi level marketing and network marketing programs are scams. You won’t be able to make money from them. You will lose your money and time.

Referral programs: There are some sites that promise that you can make big money by just referring people to them. If the main job is to refer people, it is a sure scam site.

Survey scams: Many survey companies say that you can make $5 to $50 per hour and make $ 5000 and above per month. They are scam sites, just ignore them.

Data entry scams: There are too many data entry scam sites on Internet. They charge you about $50 and give a list of companies. Most of the companies in the list will not be existing. Some of the companies will ask you to pay an amount to them also. All are scam sites.

Consult yahoo answers and review sites: If you have a doubt about a site then ask a question about it at yahoo answers. Similarly you can visit a few review sites where you may find the review of the site you are looking for.

Discuss on popular forums: There are many discussion forums that have excellent information about Internet home business. You can ask a question whether a site is legit or not. The members will come up with their experiences with the site and you will get right information. You can then easily identify whether the site is legit or not.

Refer Better Business bureau:  This is a trusted site that tells you whether a site is a legit one or not. But they have information only on companies located  in the USA or Canada.

Consult on line friends: You can get the opinions of your on line friends who are already making money on line and have rich experience in this field. They will be able to tell you whether a site is legit or not. In fact many of my on line friends consult me to ascertain a site is legit.

Summary: There is no need to pay any company to work on line and earn. Think twice before opening your wallet to pay for an on line earning program. Remember there are too many scam sites on Internet. Do a research before joining a site even if you don’t have to pay them any amount. Spend time on a site only if you are sure the site is a legitimate one. Good luck, thanks for reading.
