-There are a lot of iPhone apps in the iTunes app store to date, 332,390 (via appshopper.com). A new iPhone app that will allow users to track family members and loved ones or play a variety of location based games is “Speed Tracker” by Mother Tucker. This application uses real time GPS through Apple Game Center to track the user’s idevice (iPhone or iPad) and other users either through iPhone or iPad. Being a former law enforcement officer there is a huge security feature, almost Big Brotherish in a sense but surveillance that requires cooperation. Users can easily track a family member coming home late from school or work watching their progress as they travel to include speed & location. As a parent you can use this with teen drivers or as a husband with my wife when she is coming home late from school. An entertaining use for this iPhone app is as a game. The game can be played walking, driving, bicycling, skateboarding, etc and should be not be played carelessly using any vehicle. Get creative, race friends on foot, bicycle, etc to the local hangout or play a new form of hide and seek, maybe called GPS Hide & Seek. “Speed Tracker” is a cool little iPhone app that has more than one use.
