The StairSteady

People write:

"I have a Stair Lift in my house, however I feel that if I had had a StairSteady I would now be a lot more active" Ted, Sheffield, 83.

'Innovative' says East Midlands Development Agency.

"The thing that struck me was how secure it was, I was impressed by how safe I felt on the stairs" Sue, Chesterfield.

The StairSteady was designed to be a low cost solution for people with limited mobility, rehabilitation needs and those temporarily suffering from sports injuries.

Q: Does it matter if the wall to which the StairSteady will be fixed is a stud wall?

A: No, provided the wall has wooden supports.

Q: What happens if there are two people in the house that need to use the StairSteady?

A: It is possible to have a modified version with two handles on a single rail. So that once one person has climbed the stairs the second can still follow.

Q: What happens if my stairs are not just a single straight flight of steps?

A: For a split flight the StairSteady can be supplied in two sections, one for each flight, each with its own steadying handle (dogleg).

Q: Would a StairSteady replace my existing handrail?

A: Not necessarily, but it is a high quality handrail as well, so can replace your existing rail or supplement it when mounted on the opposite wall to your existing handrail.

Q: Does it obstruct the stairs?

A: No, because it folds neatly out of the way when not in use, so others can use the stairs unobstructed.

Q: Does it come in other colours?
