WDM :: Beat the Banker

City bankers are making enormous profits while people around the world go hungry - all thanks to betting on the future price of basic foods. Incredibly their casino is totally legal. Uncontrolled financial market gambling on everyday staples needs to stop - urgently. It's time to tell George Osborne to take on the bankers and agree to EU regulation of food speculation.

The bankers currently have the Chancellor's ear and hold all the cards. But for how much longer? World Development Movement is now raising the stakes in our campaign to curb food speculation. Your support is desperately needed to regulate an unfair financial market that results in hunger and hardship among the poorest people in the world.

Please join our campaign by adding your name to our online petition. You can also show your support by taking part in the world's first ever game of Human Blackjack.

Human Blackjack takes place online on 26 November 2010. You're invited to take your place at the table alongside other supporters of regulation of food speculation - like Barack Obama - and the bankers that stand in their way. Compassion, not cash, is all that's required.

Stop bankers betting on food - let's make sure the UK government hears the message loud and clear and takes action in the New Year by agreeing to crack down on the food speculators. Want to take action?
